What is love but a mental state
Is this love something we have, or something to hate
Are those who do not have it a step below
Or are they a person with blood to flow
Can this person survive on their own
Will you be the person to call them on the phone
Does life without love count as a life
Can you have love with a husband not a wife
Is it strictly Adam and Eve
Or was there ever an Adam and Steve
Can black and white mix
Or does interracial ruin the family pics
Why does everyone care
Can everyone not be treated fair
Why does it matter who I choose
Is it I that is the one who will lose
Could it be the ones that are staring
Or those worried about what I am wearing
How about the woman clinching her holy water
Could it be her with her *perfect* daughter
What if that daughter loved one of the same
Did that mother of a lesbian tell her she will burn in a flame
Should that daughter be destined for hell
Or would the mother take it well
Is love not a state of mind
Something no one can leave behind
Can anyone justify their position
How can they create a marriage petition
Who is to say if someone’s love is right or wrong
Can’t everyone just sing their own song
Is love something that can be defined
How is it possibly to walk just a broad line
Could this love be shades of gray
Would something that isn’t black or white be okay
Isn’t the world made of colors of all kind
Do you think God only had one color in mind
Could there be more than one solution to each trouble
Isn’t there more than one way to blow a bubble
Then why in the hell won’t you let it be
Why do you always have to find ways to hurt me
Do you not understand the meaning of go away
How can I make it clearer that I want you to stay
Is it possible to beat this thing called love
Would I want to cover my heart in a glove
